This is still a huge problem. It does tend to be specific to random files, but they are not solely mxf files…in my case it was a proRes file. BUT I did find an easy solution. Use Final Cut Pro X and worked like a charm. How bout them beans adobe!

Hello there,
yes I had been in touch with aja support and they had not encountered the problems we were having and it was too much at the time where we were getting behind on episode edits unfortunately. So the problem had to be remedied quickly. -
I’d like to chime in…I work at a production facility where we shoot 4 how to shows for network…we had initially been setup with mac pro (2013) and aja IO 4k with premiere pro and my experience fighting with aja and premiere has been insane. We had constant problems with the aja software locking up premiere. Now Premiere has some little bugs here and there but these lock ups related to the aja…we would unplug the aja and, viola!, the computer lived again. Had synch issues, phantom audio glitches, playback problems. I was able to arrange a blackmagic ultrastudio 4k loaner to test and AS SOON AS AJA SOFTWARE WAS REMOVED THE COMPUTER RAN LIKE A CHARM! Installed blackmagic utility and the ultrastudio works perfectly. Now the fan noise is wayyyy louder on blackmagic so plan on where to position that buggah. Recap…when aja software is removed, system works like it should.
Thanks all

November 5, 2013 at 9:21 pm in reply to: QuickTime Won’t Play XDCam EX Footage After ProApps Codec “Update”We ran into this issue on 2 out of 4 Mac Pros at our shop. That was the odd ball. The updates ran without a hitch on 2 systems but not on the other 2. All 4 are exact same models, same OS and RAM. Confusing. We had to just revert to the previous state, pre-update via image clone. If you Time Machine, just revert to before the update and you should be back running. Other than that, afraid it’s a clean reinstallaroni.
Best of luck

Yeah if you adjust your TMTS flash frame to 6-7 frames and open its parameter settings and make sure for blur type you have “both blurs” selected. Don’t drop luma down or you will get a mute flash. Also check https://www.filmimpact.net they have free plugins including impact flash and it looks like what you may need. There are bloom, blur, and alpha sub color settings in it. Hope this helps. Good luck!

How did you only uninstall from Adobe? I’m running into this crap as well. Many thanks for your help!

Yep. Just read that and I’m looking into it. Looks like the way to go. Thanks!

Greetings. I’m in a scenario where we have to work with those files. FCP won’t read the m2t files but I found I can take m2t files into premiere or after fx and spit them out to whatever friendly quicktime file FCP will recognize. Though it may be very cumbersome it’s the only work around I know with a straight m2t file. If anyone has a better solution please chime in.

You do need Toast 9, but do some tests because it seems that some media is reliable some are not. In my experience the Sony Dual Layer bluray media is useless, but the TDK works fine. Unless otherwise someone please correct me because I have some valuable stuff on sony dual layer bluray discs. I am running toast 9.2 with bluray plugin on OS 10.4.11….

Great, I’m not crazy! I knew it. Think the next update should include no extra fx or filters, just fix the dang bugs!!
