James, I had tried unchecking and rechecking ‘capture across tc breaks’ as well as ‘stop capture when a bad frame is detected.’ It doesn’t matter any more, but I was just trying to figure out what happened. Ive never seen a capture issue like this in the past.

  • Was there any “import p2” option in MC4 and up? I don’t remember there being one. Yes just AMA it.

  • If you have 5 cameras running, you have no need for the ‘swap cam bank’ function. You should only be seeing 5 cameras at any given time.

After doing the whole add edit/subclip/add aux TC, are you sorting the clips by aux tc then name? If you’d like “Cam A” to always be in the same spot, and “Cam B” to always be in the same spot (on the 9 split), you need to do this. Again, I do not see why you would need more than 5 spots in the 9 split.

You will be able to edit, but it will likely be clunky and delayed, not fun for cutting. If you have any multiclip material, do not expect good performance out of it. You can get a RAID G drive instead if that’s an option, they’re not too expensive these days.

And yes I think you’ll be able to install MC.

No there should not be, just import at a high bit rate, DNx 220, 175, etc.

Thanks for the replies guys. I’m also starting to think it is also what part of the image you put the tracking markers over. I was tracking position and rotation, and it seems that the side of the screen (top or bottom) that they weren’t on is where I am seeing this effect.

I’m a little unclear- are you having trouble syncing all clips up with the audio, or just the C camera that started and stopped. Was the timecode jammed?

I would recommend just building your stacks like you normally would with a big group.

We went the clipwrap route. Dealing with AVCHD in any form sucks in general

I have cut a few of them, and usually go the route of multicam editing, syncing up with in-points and a click track (if they used it in production). Works for me. I would suggest multicam over the stacking route. Music has it’s own timecode, so it’s very easy to sync if you have reference audio.

You’ll need to be much more specific, what camera? codec? There are many POV HD Cameras
