I figured it out. When I close the preview window this happens. Ok thats the fix but does anybody know why vegas does this? Can’t see any logic in it unless it is to edit on very slow systems.

  • This question is to vague and you would have better luck in a cakewalk fourm. But I can give you one tip usually you will need a common clock besides smpte. Video ref or word clock. It’s not easy under best of circumstances. I suggest you export a video ruff cut and import that to sonar.

  • Yes. I’m not in front of vegas right now but if I recall in the project setting window there is a check box that will match project settings to media. Deselect that box

Our studio has the new version of rx3 on all 4 of our computers. We have had excellent results with denoise. Never felt the need for advanced. Are you changing the settings to highest quality? Are you learning on a good section of just the noise for analaysis ?

  • I use Carrara Pro for modeling and Animation. I tried Blender but couldn’t get my head around the interface. (It’s been a couple years since I’ve tried blender I’ve heard the front end is improved)
What I like about Carrara is I can model or modify my models in the same program that I animate, as I animate.
There used to be a 30 day free free demo of Carrara 8.
As well a book was sold that had version 6 included. It can be found on amazon for about $20.00 and Daz ( Carrara) seems to honor the license, but that version doesn’t qualify for upgrade discounts. It’s how I started doing Modeling and animation.
I think Any 3d program is a bear to learn though.
I am trying some modeling in Autocad Fusion 360 but alas it’s ransom ware.

March 11, 2014 at 5:11 am in reply to: exporting AAF to Avid

I’ve wanted to use this this but have avoided it. I just gave it a test and for my purposes it looks like it might work. All my HDV footage audio was exported with handles. Oddly a stereo audio file that was in a different location didn’t. ( I suppose I could have relinked)
I like it for cleaning up camera audio, but I guess it’s not ready for prime time yet.
