Select event with out moving Playhead
Posted by Brad Leigh on February 4, 2014 at 6:13 amEvery so often I scub the playhead to the exact location I want and want to split an event that is not highlighted. Is there a way to do this without risking moving the playhead?
Thanks

February 4, 2014 at 11:46 amThis sounds interesting but I’m not quite following it.
Holding down the ctrl key duplicates the event.
Can you explain what you mention a bit more?
Thanks

February 4, 2014 at 12:27 pmRoger, don’t MOVE the Event, otherwise you will get a copy. This is to only LOCK/FIX the Event from moving whilst wanting to Split it.

Yes, but if an event(s) is already selected it will stay selected. The Ctrl modifier is used to add more events to an existing selection.
This is standard Windows UI convention.
Ctrl+Click adds individual items to a selection.
Shift+Click adds to a selection where everything in between the current selection and the Shift+Click point is added to the selection.
