  • CatDV has exactly what you need and more. It’s extremely powerful and infinitely customizable. There’s a CatDV panel for the Adobe suite. It is capable of one button archiving/un-archiving. Tagging and metadata are super deep and everything is searchable. You can create proxies for all your footage and that makes everything accessible even if your footage is offline or archived. And your proxies and catalogs are all available via the web.

  • You should take a look at CatDV. I think it would be a good option for you and your needs.

Great, thanks John. I was able to set it up in the Server visibility rules.

Is there any way around it? If I have 10 takes of the exact same shot with near-identical thumbnails, what’s the quickest/easiest way to determine which shots have been reviewed?

I thought I had this sorted out but I started a new project today and I’m running into the same issues.

I’m unable to “Render and Replace” some of my After Effects comps in my Premiere timeline. Some work fine, others have the option greyed out. Changing the preview file format hasn’t worked in this case. And I can’t seem to find any discernible differences between the working comps and the non-working comps.

Anyone else seen this with their projects?

I figured it out – my preview files were set to ProRes 1920×1080 and my sequence is set up as 971×551 (odd size I know). Once I changed the preview files to I-Frame Only MPEG 971×551 everything was back to normal.

    Carry on 🙂

I’ve seen that as well…and it’s definitely annoying. The first and last frames should be locked no matter how much you stretch the clip.

Search for “Clip Name” in the Premiere Pro CC Effects tab.

Not sure if you ever found a solution for this but just today I was looking for something similar and discovered that PrPro CC has a “Clip Name” plug-in. That should do the trick.
