That’s what the SEARCH POSTS is for, you can find your answer in seconds.But no mattter, here it is again:
You should not attempt a serious edit by only looking at the computer monitor for judging quality.
FCP is designed as an editing SYSTEM to be operated with an external video monitor connected
(through a camcorder is just fine) DURING the edit process.
The external video monitor would have shown you that many video “freeze frames” will wiggle, dance, jitter, flicker, etc.This Still-frame “flicker” is absolutely normal and is due to the fact that video “frames” are actually made up of TWO “fields”.
If there is a lot of ACTION (or motion) in the frame you chose to “freeze”, the 2 fields will appear slightly different from one another and will jump back-and-forth between themselves, over and over during the “freeze”.To solve the problem, just add the “Flicker Filter” or, better still, the “De-Interlace Filter” to the freeze(s).

Only if you plan on adding several graphics to the edit.
You certainly won’t GAIN any quality over what’s already on the tape.
And if you output again to DV, there will have been extra compression-steps necessary by changing the sampling from the tape to FCP, and back again.

Are you SURE the tape is PAL?

If you want to view the most ACCURATE image, you still want to use a CRT (picture tube) monitor and NOT an LCD or Plasma display.
CRT monitors are no longer going to be made and you may be able to get a bargain if you look.
Sony brand “broadcast” monitors are very popular.
Google for “Sony Broadcast Monitor PAL”.
S-Video, RGB, Component, and/or FireWire inputs (if your gear has any of those options) are preferred connections over BNC Composite.

You can’t “compress” an AUDIO CD and still have it play as a CD.
It must be a 44.1 kHz audio file in the proper CD audio format to play in a CD player as a CD.Some players can play mp3 and other kinds of files, but an audio CD must be recorded as such to play in a standard CD player.
That said, you can buy CD-R blanks that record up to 80 minutes.
Google (or eBay) for “80 minute CD-R”.

I agree with Videopark.
I suggest you call an engineer at the location and get clarification on this.
I’ve never heard of any broadcast outlet wanting the TC on the audio tracks normally used for program audio.

If you quit FCP, the next time you open the program you must choose your export settings again.
Wish it saved them but it doesn’t.

The first thing to always try is to Quit FCP, Restart the Mac, Open your FCP project and try again.

A great way to do this is to use “FCP Rescue” a free Apple Script that will Trash the Preferences for you (and restore nearly all of your user settings afterward).

I forgot to ask WHY do you need to put TC on an Audio track of the BSP at all?

I’d try it first.
In the “pre-stripe” method the BetaCam would be GENERATING the TC and it would be stable and continuous.
In the “dubbing-in-at-the-same-time” method the Beta might be looking for an external TC INPUT and it MIGHT make the “TC out” a bit off.
(Don’t know if it WOULD, but its a consideration.)
