the problem with P2 in the future will be the speed, when we go to 1080 50p – then the new SD card maybe will be a new storage solution. Today I use SDHC cards on my Sony EX3 kamera. They cost less than 1/10 of the price of the original sony SXS cards. When we can use standard memorycards – the price will really drop….

Ok – no such switch on the 2100 – maybe the 2100 just will not do DS gain in 720P – I just thougt I used it before in a HD project.

I have tried it – works OK. Only problem was that people using avid could not find out how to import it when it was not on a P2 card. If you want to transfer a lot of raw material it would take a heavy duty connection to work. I use it from time to time for small clips and finised material (selling clips) but also for quicktime movies and MP4’s.

When I am in 720 PN I cannot use the DS gain. Maybe it has something to do with the Cine/videomode reffered to in this thread. Where do i switch between the two modes?
-think i found it in paint/gamma but maybe its because i have a 2100 – that i cannot find any video mode

You need CS 3,2 Choose “Import” and then “import folder” – do not try to import a file. Import the BPAV folder or the folder that contains it. Then it should work.

You have to manipulate with the knee sttings. With the Standard settings comming with the camera – white will blow out. I Found the settings in another forum some time ago. Knee point at 85 and a slope on 55 as far as I remember.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G30 notebook – it outputs the timeline player window on the HDMI output. Looks greaet in HD. There must be some graphic cards for Staionary PC’s that is capable of that too.

I would use the panasonic : P2 contens manegement software – to export to a directory in a new folder on your harddisk. When you do that – you will get the right structure of the folders and the lastclip file. Download here: https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/desk/e/download.htm
Unfortunately the panasonic software are not as easy to use as the sony clipbrowser for the EX files but you have to use the panasonic software.
Choose your source (P2 card) mark your clips and choose file/export then you can hoose your destination for the clips.
