  • CS4 odd 1-pixel horizontal lines throughout the program.

I bought CS4 about two weeks ago, and haven’t been able to solve this annoying glitch-like problem.

When I start the program, it looks fine, until it reaches the page of selecting projects.

On this page, and throughout the entire program, are very odd 1-pixel tall, 5-pixel wide white lines. I have no idea how to fix this. Video Playback works, but the lines are present there as well.

I am not sure if this has anything to do with De-interlacing, for the lines are shown all over the program, not just the video.

    I am running on
    Windows XP Home
1G of RAM (It works fine with After Effects)
    Nvidia 8400 GS (512)

I would be very grateful if you find the source of my problem.

Sounds like a video card driver issue. If you have the latest driver you may want to try rolling back a version or two to compare the results. Some of the newest card drivers don’t like CS4. I had that issue on my laptop.

I have a 2 monitor setup – and when the Video program window just have a little snap on the second lcd – it creates strange horisontal lines. But as I remember only in the video program window.

I have heard about that problem as well, when doing a search for a solution to my current problem. Sadly, my issue isn’t just the playback/video window, but the entire program.

Weird…I had to update to the newest QFX drivers on my laptop to get Encore CS4 to play a timeline…and many other things actually cleared up as well.

Normally I’d have always cautioned against using the newest drivers on display cards with Adobe products, but this time it went the other way. I’d like to be a better curmudgeon, but I can’t stay in my rut…

I started seeing these in CS3 about a month ago when I updated my nvidia video card drivers. I need the drivers for other applications, so I just ignore the lines. They’re irritating but they don’t affect the output.
