  • DFT 55MM “skin smoother”. Use it on a video diva I shoot.

  • Hmmm…. I’ve always SAID split, but now I’m wondering – are the front & rear 400 ports same bus? If so, yes indeed on same bus. Though I always try never to have both on at same time (a no-no I know).

  • Using AJA setup. But often I switch to DV input & change to a custom. But before going back to IO I load an AJA Easy. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

On another thread people talked about successfully using cheap ($100) laser range finders as a focus assist. Great range, dial in focus. Done. Hmmm…. bit of Velcro on the handle, tiny range finder sits on top…

  • But the IO is sending video out from FCP. It’s only in Capture where the “preview” in the Capture window doesn’t work.

I’m always one to go with sticks if I can. Can’t help you on the “style” of the edit – I don’t have any knowledge of what a coach would be looking for. I wouldn’t even know what’s a good play when I saw it.

My god man…. NO CATERING?!?! Have you lost your mind! That’s no way to shoot a Film…errr… video. Blasphemous heathens. And in a Public Park.

Seriously – LOVED it… great work on the fly. (dug the title treatment, sfx, music too)

Were any squirrels harmed during the taping of this Film… errr… video?

Not a soccer/sports shooter per se, but I’d go with 1 wide covering the play with about 1/2 field, and the other two on MS of the “stars”. Designate 1 of the 2 “star cams” to switch to the defense player when the ball heads that way. The 2nd of the 2 can decide with the play which offense to cover. Try to get your WS up on the top bleachers. Since soccer really covers the whole field, I’d go with the 2 MS cams around midfield. I’d STRONGLY RECOMMEND having all 3 cams start together, and NOT STOP until tape runs out. Since you’re not covering “the game” you don’t have to worry about a gap in coverage while all change tape @ 1 hour. This’ll make it WAY WAY easier to edit as a “multicam”.

Thanks Mitch! So using just the onboard controls gives satisfactory results as well? This is looking like the baby to buy for my work…
