    hello

ok so on the letterman show they use these hitachi cameras that have the ability to soften detail in the flesh tones, in effect reducing wrinkles etc. (I think they have em cranked way up in the wide shots, cuz sometimes his face looks like a couple of blobs with eyes)

Does anyone know of either a trick or a plug in that would allow me to do that in FCP?

we have a middle age politician whose face is showing the stress of her job, and would like to soften it somehow

    thanx

DFT 55MM “skin smoother”. Use it on a video diva I shoot.

Off the top of my head:

    1) Duplicate the clip to be effected on a layer above the currrent clip (say V2)

    2) On the V2 clip: Grab the skin tone that you want with the Chroma Keyer. Then invert the key.

    3) Apply a Gaussian blur.

volia – the years melt away.

BTW – I think the Canon XLH1 can do this in camera.

    Cheers – Bill
