That is my understanding as well. Vegas loves PNGs. I would NEVER save a jpeg using a jpeg format. Jpegs lose resolution each time they are saved.

For 720×480 videos, I use a crop setting of 1310 x 960 pixels. This setting yields a photo which has no visible black bars in the video. A higher resolution can be used, but the horizontal/vertical relationship must be preserved to avoid the black bars.

I have had much better luck with the Sony Unsharp Mask. Sharpen has a nasty tendency to make low levels of noise much more prominent.

You can’t fix the video. It’s overexposed. There is nothing to recover. You can use a curve and pull down only the high whites (the upper right corner of the curve). You will have to put a second point on the curve to prevent dimming the mid range and low tones. That would make it grayer and less obvious.

You could replace the blown out pupil with, for example, a photoshop image, but that would require a LOT of keyframing to keep the still image in the right place on the video.

I have now processed and emailed the file to you. If you don’t receive it, let me know and I will try something else.

I can send you a processed file tomorrow. How would you like me to upload it?

I’m not sure what your question is. I was listening in declick preview. I have now processed it, and I can still hear a problem in the same region. Before processing, a click is right at the same spot so I am not sure if the distortion is present before declicking occurs. I can also hear distortion at other points, but it is probably an improvement over the clicks.

I’m hearing distortion several times. One example is between 32.644 and 33.295. I am listening on headphones. I don’t know if you can hear it on speakers.

What happens if you nest, rather than render, the video in question? Then try fading it in the parent project.
