As to the original question (PLEASE correct me if I am wrong), if you have both 10 and 12 can you not just copy your timeline in 12 and then paste it into 10 as a means of ‘going back’ assuming that you have the same plug-ins/effects in both versions?

Thanks John. I contacted Sony and after a rather lengthy discussion about my TV problems, the agent said that I would have to deal with BestBuy (where I bought it). After some very gentle prodding/begging on my part the agent elevated it to the next level. To make a loooong story short, Sony is sending me a refurbished TV – the same as or comparable to what I have. I have no idea what to expect but that is the best they would do. I hope that all turns out well. After all, this TV is 3 years old but I would have expected it to last longer. I am dying to see the footage from my new camera. This is what started the whole saga.

I got the UV filter and tried it out but I still have the original problem……

As a follow-up, I must add that the HD TV is a Sony Bravia XP9 x 52 inch. This whole issue has driven me nuts as the dark streaks show up on the FIOS connection (at first unnoticed) and also on the Blu-ray disc and Blu-ray player. The TV is exactly 3 years old. Upon further investigation, I have found that this is an issue with the Sony brand TV. Naturally, not everyone is experiencing this, but it is a known issue on the Sony e-support forums. Thank you for your advice and I just wanted everyone to know the outcome. I seriously doubt if Sony will do anything about this but I will send them the information.

Thanks for the advice and taking the time to answer my questions. I had burned this test project several times previously(after ‘adjusting’ the template) and this time I followed your suggestions and am extremely pleased with the results. I noticed a big improvement in the SD clip after I added the Sony sharpen plugin.

Thank you for your response (I was hoping that you hadn’t had enough of my questions yet!).

I understand ‘now’ not to fool with the templates. If you will just bear with me for two more questions I won’t bother you any more (on this!!).

When would you adjust the default ’25 Mbs’ video stream to a higher number? I thought I had read in the manual (yes, I have read it…I just don’t understand most of it) that Blu-ray could go up to 40 Mbs.

Finally, when would you need the 59.940 fps option?

Thank you for taking the time to answer. I, also, have a UV filter on my TRV30 camera, but it came in the box when I bought it. I am going to order one for the new camera as soon as I finish this post.

The camera that I am ‘expecting’ is the Panasonic X900M. I know from reading its specifications that it offers a variety of capturing options but I guess I will just have to wait until I can get my hands on the actual product and play with it a little before I can truly understand all of the information that you have graciously furnished. You are correct, I am using the standalone pI3. In the past I usually saved my work as sequence with a transparency and just overlaid it on a separate track in Vegas. I just didn’t know if there would be any problems with things like aspect ration or the different par’s.

Either way, Santa will not let me open anything yet…I am only assuming that I may get a new camera…I have been VERY good this year. So it will be a couple of weeks before I can try pI3 with HD.
