Thanks to Roger and Matt re problems with loop regions. Incredibly, my problem was a dud mouse. Swapped it out with a new one and bingo, loop regions feature now behaving as it should. Many thanks.

Thanks for your expert advice John. Yes, I am referring to HDD camcorders – sorry about the confusing title. For the convenience of security and storage I’ve been using miniDV tapes for years, most recently with a Canon HV30 and Vegas V10. My overseas vacations often generate 10-12 tapes (much of which ends up ‘on the cutting room floor’) so rather than dragging all that around with me I am considering a high capacity HDD camcorder (AVCHD of course).

Hi John,
Deinterlace method used in my current project is Blend Fields. I can only presume that I used the same setting in my previous project which the clips were lifted from, but I can’t be sure.
Not sure if it’s relevant however the new project and the imported clips look fine on my PC – no distortion. It’s only after rendering and authoring to DVD do I see the problem (with some of the clips} on my TV.

Thanks for the info. Not what I expected to hear but at least now I know. Pretty poor of Sony not to fix the problem without having to apply work-arounds, given the regular version upgrades. Thanks again.

Well, this is my first big HD project. I’ve done bits and pieces before with the same settings but this is the first time I’ve noticed this problem.

Each clip’s pick up from the following clip is very small but the same size – a ‘nano second’ – for each clip irrespective of the length (size) of the clip. However small, it’s still enought to be seen as a ‘flicker’ at the end of each clip when run on the timeline.

Hope this makes some sense.

Sorry, forgot one question. If my camera recording setting had been HDV and not HDV(PF25), should the ‘Deinterlace method’ in properties be “Blend fields”? If not, what?
