Loop Regions
Hi,
Practically every time I click anywhere on the time line or indeed anywhere on the screen, a loop region of varying lengths is created – most annoying.
I appreciate there is an old thread on this issue and in response to a similar inquiry, Mike Kujbida suggested enabling ‘Options – Prefs – Editing – Collapse loop region when no time selection is present’. I have done this however it does not seem to have any effect.
Could anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong? I’m using Vegas Pro 11.

Uncheck the icon towards the bottom left. It’s the one that looks like a circle with an arrow on the end. That’s the loop button.

Is the loop region thing actually causing you problems? If not, then don’t worry about it – it’s standard behaviour for Vegas and doesn’t actually affect most tasks.
If you really are managing to create timeline selections with just a single click (and even outside the timeline) then either you’ve found a very weird bug, or your mouse is doing double slicks or the shift key is stuck or something like that.

Thanks to Roger and Matt re problems with loop regions. Incredibly, my problem was a dud mouse. Swapped it out with a new one and bingo, loop regions feature now behaving as it should. Many thanks.

Aha! I had a mouse that occasionally did double-clicks and all sorts of weird things happened. I was able to swap the microswitch inside for one from an old mouse and that fixed it.
