  • Hi Pushpa,
    S142408WHCAU – Dell 2408WFP UltraSharp 24 Widescreen on Flat Panel LCD (Analogue & DVI)Monitor.
    I will be using this with a T220467AU-Dell Vostro 430 Mini Tower Desktop with a Intel(R) Core(TM)Processori7-860 (2.80HHz,8MB,4C, 8Threads,Turbo up to 3G, 512MB ATI RadeonTM HD 4350 (DVI,VGA,HDMI) also Blu-Ray Writer and IEEE 1394A Firewire Card for the Panasonic 3CCD & Canon HV 20.
However, Adobe advise a CS5 Convention for about 15 April,
I will wait to check out System requirements.
We have been editing for over 5 years, from Hi-8, SD to HDV on Premiere Pro 1.5.1 which is the Cineform UpGrade (this needs to be upgraded for the newer H.264 MOV files from the Canon EOS 5D Mark II as it all needs to be rendered before able to used easily on the timeline.Adobe’s Premiere Pro on all video formats till now has been exceptional.Even CS4 is not up to it according to COW Forums.

The colour matching of this monitor to image prints is very accurate so it the matching of video in the Monitor window to out put on a Sony Bravia HD 46″ LCD. The previous 19″ Flat panel Dell Monitor was not bad either, but, we are seeing detail we have not seen before.

    Good luck.

  • Thanks Mike,
After the Firmware Upgrade to 2.0.4 we in PAL land had the opportunity to video in the 5D Mark II @25fps and the project setting was PAL 25fps. When Imported into the timeline the FPS was 2.5 not 25 fps as expected . Now, when the camera ran at 30fps Premiere Pro accepted it as 30fps,(ie., before the Firmware upgrade) but, not now . It shows it as 2.99 or 3.0 fps ? And 25fps as 2.5fps ? The camera has been checked by Canon and is operating to specifications.
The clips on the timeline @30fps after rendering were quite manageable and easily edited.
Oddly enough the same Imported clips Imported into Adobe’s amateur product Premiere Elements are shown as 25 fps and after rendering & editing play smoothly.
The Premiere Elements timeline can even be exported as an uncompressed file back into Premiere Pro ( this is a superior product) for final editing and Export, But, I do not want the hassle? I have unistalled & reinstalled Premiere twice to no avail ?

Ps. The Canon 7D would be similar to the 5D mark II except the sensor is full 35mm frame putting out a H.264 MOV file and a 3sec clip is massive at about 25mb give or take , the images and video is stunning.

    Aaron,
Just sent MVI.3365.MOV 16.8mb, 3 sec clip via YouSendIt.This clip was Imported into Premiere Elements and Exported as an avig.avi 1440×1080 Uncompressed Video Format 8 bit YUV422 file and Imported into Premiere Pro and it played very smoothly. But, why when Imported into Premiere does it come in as 2.5fps ?

    Aaron,

Quicktime says @25fps and Premiere Elements says 25 fps ,and Canon Zoom Browzer says 25fps but, it is an awfull editor; and both look smooth at 25 fps. That is why I do not think it is the camera ?

Premiere Pro says 2.5 fps ? And it looks terrible.

    Jeff,
You are right my old computer has got to go, but, I too have not had problems with the encoder, I will go to CS5 as soon as possible. My point was it works on my old computer untill I ran into H.264 mov and then it slowed down.

Adobe suggest if you have a problem close down the computer. Restart, Capture HDV into Project window, move
    >. to Timeline >.Edit > Save. Check timeline is in sync> if Ok. Export.> To Movie or To Tape or DVD or Blu-ray Do not go anywhere near Window Media Player. We work in 1920 x 1080 HD and experience no problems in Premiere Pro but do not use Windows Media Player.

    Good luck !
