More like $30 in Australia, we mainly go to tape then run from videocamera to HDMI terminal on a Sony HD Bravia 46″ for viewing.

I agree a SD DVD of the Premiere Pro timeline direct to DVD can still look impressive

Have been using JVC PRO HD MiniDV ME for three years and no issues as well as Sony DVM 63MiniDV/HDV in the Canon HV 20 upgraded , according to Canon Technical it plays the output of the Canon XH-A1 as professional quality, cannot fault reproduction on a Sony Bravia 46″

Min CS5 System requirments are on Adobe Cs 5 System requirements, but, Duo-Core 64 bit, Nvidia Quadro Fx 3800 video Card with a lot of RAM 12 Mb, I have ; more may be better for H264 mov files from a Canon 5 D mark II files and big “C ” Drive, it will work on a lot less if you have to.
PS Do not want to build , try a Dell Precision T5500 XEON procesor, with Adobe Specifications as above.

I ran a Dell Dimension 3.2Ghz , hyper- threaded with a 125 MB radeon Video card (now 6 years old )to Adobe System requirements. with the old 1.5.1 which still works well although slow with Premiere pro and H264 mov files. The new Dell Precision T5500 Quad with the NVidia Quadro Fx3800 is a great improvement even at using a 32 bit Premiere Pro , on the new computer.The looks are similar to Apple’s Final Cut Pro, probably 3 times faster renders and saves. Although transcoding mov to Cineform avi is faster it is not earth shattering , but, an improvement. I will get CS5 soon, I wanted to see what would happen. I am pleasantly surprised.

I believe CS5 is a 64 bit application and will not run on a 32 bit computer. Trail it on SD , they will not allow you to trial it on High Definition.It did run on the old computer in Standard definition only.

SteadyMove .1 Plug- in should be still available from 2D3 for 1.5 and 2 Premiere Pro , I stll use it. Try Adobe Downloads or go to 2D3 Web site which is German . Send, e-mail and they should provide a link.It is 5 years old but, the non pro version is still pretty good.

I still use it.

Well, my son runs Final Cut on a Mac, and frankly he has run into lenghty render problems which seem to be improved by using IMovie would you believe. I use a Dell Precision Quad Core with a Nvidia FX3800 video card and have no problems.However, a 128MB x16 Radeon X300 will still produce smooth video although slower in an older 3.2Ghz Hyper-threading computer., try a Free Download of IMovie if you can get it.Or alternatively, Premiere Elements 8 ??????????
