You would be better of using , say a 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS Canon Lens and no adapters,at say 85mm or 135mm or an EF l series f2.8 25-70 mm Lens at say 70 mm.
GOOD LUCK !

Hi Stef,
None, the codec of the h.264 mov 1920 x 1080p @ 25fps clips are broadcast quality, out of the Canon 5D Mark II, there is no quality loss between, straight from camera via HDMI to Sony Bravia 46’PAL and Dell 2408WFP Ultra Sharp 24″ Widescreen Flat panel Monitor via Premiere Pro 5.5.2 onto Tape 1440 x 1080i Anamorphic and to Blu-Ray disc at 1920 x 1080p, the video requires very little color correction and it is pin sharp when required.
I did have an HDMI cable which failed after 12 months and the newer more expensive cable was a huge improvement, so I replaced/upgraded all HDMI cables.
The still image and video out of this camera is equal to any HD 1080 broadcast and in many cases far better on screen and monitor.
If you cannot get it right, check with Canon Service, if under warranty ?
I upgrade the camera Firmware and have the camera serviced every 12 months.Ps., Check your CF cards, I use SanDisk Extreme 60MB/s at 400x UDMA, last month shot at -30c in China , no issues with camera or cards even after 2 hours in these conditions.

Well the Mark II does, and it has been very clean for 3.5 years.
Check your cable. Check your HD TV, is it set correctly ?
Anything at H.264 mov edited in Premiere Pro CS5.5.2 at 1920 x 1080p is just stunning as is Sony Vegas. Check your monitor specs ? Should be 1920 x 1080p capable #Even Exported to Pro tape is similar, especially on a HDMI input, some cables are not up to it ?

Well I have used a Canon 5D Mark II for 3-4 years , similar set up , but, with larger sensor. I recommend using the Image Stabilizer hand held, did have some jitter at start , but, smooth horizontal panning is essential with a shutter speed of 1/50sec or less PAL 25 fps.(However, I have noticed on a 3 week trip to China using Aperture Priority at say 1/2000 sec at F5.6 there still are no issues)and that was at 1920 x 1080p H.264 mov edited in CS5.5.2
No recent problems with a f3.5-5.6 28-135mm IS Lens, however Canon have put out a F2.8 70-200mm L series IS lens which is supposed to correct aberrations of this kind ? This can be eliminated by using the Plug in from Mercalli Pro V2 ( they call it rolling shutter compensation) for image stabilization in CS 5.5.2 Premiere Pro.
But, if you handle the camera correctly you should not get this issue , your demo indicates your panning is too fast? You will not get this using a Canon HD Video camcorder even a Canon HV20 1920 x 1080i because of the different operating system, but, the 7D is a different beast, do not rush the pan #
Take note I use EF Lens only on the 5D mark II , and not the lens which comes with the 7D

Unless you are going to 35mm film I would not use 24fps Cinema Speed ????? Personal preference, it will not make the video look any better. But, we are PAL at 25 fps, there is little to be gained, we have been using H.264 mov at 1920x 1080p for 3 years with travel docs and no problems in a PC to Anamorphic 1440 x 1080 i Pro tape or Blu-Ray.
Rolling shutter should not be an issue if an IS EF lens on a 5D Mark II is used, but, we use MercalIi V2 Pro Stabilizer Plug-In on a PC i7 64 bit Quad-Core using Premiere Pro CS5.5.2, but , horizontal panning must be slow and smooth.
Check your clip shutter speed, should be 1/50 sec or slower in Canon’s Zoom Browser EX V 6.7.2.33
Do not change the editing speed, for film it must be 24 fps.

Just looks like low level lighting, speed at 1/50 sec or lower with high ISO setting may help ?? Had similar lighting at jazz concert ISO was 6400 @ 1/50 sec 25 fps PAL, no issues but, LED lighting may be problem. I do not think so ? Lens used was a f3.5-5.6 28-135mm IS is on EF Lens, the Canon 5D Mark II usually handles this sort of problem with ease ? Set your adjustment at A+, it will automatically take you to ISO 6400 if needed, you could go higher if required by setting it manually.
It may be removed in Adobe’s Premiere Pro CS5.5.2 ?

Try Mozilla Firefox, it might help to close down the Windows Firewall and/or security suite ?
Good luck
I tried Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11 as well using a Nvidia Quadro FX3800 it was faster than Premiere Pro CS5.5.2 in 32 bit.
You may be in the wrong Forum try Sony Vegas as well ?
Make sure the Download Version is 64 bit and not 32 bit, but, with Vegas it should not make any difference, but, your RAM is very light on for High Definition Editing ?
