Sony Vegas when using h.264mov and AVCHD @1920 x 1080p from the newer cameras is a tad faster than Premiere Pro 5.5.2.and it has performed faultlessly for over 7 months /or 6. However, it is run on an i7 64 bit XEON 12GB 1 TB C Drive in Raid 0 @15,000rpm and an Approved Nvidia Quadro Fx3800 Workstation Quad Core Windows Professional 7 with a High performance 24′ Monitor. You would be best advised to test drive, incidentally CS6 now has the Warp Stabilizer included.

Check out the Minimum System requirements from Adobe.

Re: Above post : sun photographed , taken from Video at Harbin – CHINA this image left no mark on sensor even though near centre.

The setting sun caught me by surprise , I did not recompose as it was on a moving clip

Well, I don’t point the camera directly at the sun, usually offset to the photographic 1/3 rd . Ok with a film camera, but, never had a problem with digital Canon 5D mark II including video in 5 years.

But, I have noticed a light image retention using 3ccd Panasonics, but, no lasting effects on the image sensor, TAKE CARE !

Well Mike,

I have used a Canon 5D Mark II for 5 years which gives you excellent control over depth of field being a full frame sensor with the FD IS Lens,(not the same as the 7D ) the new Mark III may be even better with the headphone plug . Personally I thought the Canon AHX1 would have been a winner as the 1440 x 1080i tape https://www.usa.canon.com/app/html/HDV/XHA1/ anamorphic is professional .

On a split monitor with 1920 x 1080 and 1440 x 1080 you may be hard placed to tell the difference in quality and the zoom capabilities of your camcorder is stunning ?
