just curious, wouldnt a reference movie work here? whats the need to re-export and/or import back into media100i? especially if the media hasnt changed.

4 gigs of RAM, Dual 2.5 PowerPC g5. XServe Raid playing back AE rendered animation files 720×486 48k.

I cant seem to reproduce this problem… must have been a fluke. When it did crash i had after effects open, so maybe tha was something. But my audio and video tracks were 2 totlaly seperate files, the video file was an AE render, the audio was a soundtrack-pro created file. After numerous attempts, i still cannot recreate the problem

All the real-time features that were available in SD timelines are now working in HD resolution across ALL codecs, with transitions, clipFX, timeFX, and ColorFX. if these features would have been available at the time of HD’s release, who knows how much farther ahead media100 would have been by now. I just enjoy the ability to mix the multiple codecs. don’t need to think about it anymore.

July 7, 2006 at 9:13 pm in reply to: how do i get my project to after effects?

but after effects wont recognize the motion project as an importable file. it looks liek the only way for me to get my cuts and clips out of final cut pro to after effects is to buy automatic duck

[Kieran Matthew] “Also you WILL be able to buy the software only to go on an existing Kona card (LS/LH/K3), though this will probably work out more expensive (i.e. buying a card + the software separately) than buying through Media 100.”

Kieran, where did you find out that you can buy the media100 SW only to work with KONA retail hardware?

i love it!!!! might be selling the blackmagic multibridge extreme now. Now i cant decide which media100 version i want. it basically comes down to whether you want to be able to real-time upconvert SD to HD ( Suite) or have the ability to digitize analog HD component (HDe). thats almost an imposible decision to make! i want both features. might just have to buy one of each…

id also be interested in that applescript for switching the drivers. i dont want to have two versions of all my programs installed on both partitions taking all that space. but will keep eyes open . did you already recieve your new media100 hardware and software kieran?

Hello Jon, I saw that you are a former media100 user. We just recently purchased a multibridge extreme alongside a new quad. I was wondering if i could get a little information from you as to how you have adapted your workflow from m100 to fcp. i find the hardware/audio vide settings setup to be a bit frustrating when starting a project. do you have your betaSP deck hooked up at all times? how do you monitor? how do you digitize other analog VHS or DVD material without changing a million settings? in media 100, everything as easy, i had beta going in and out component, DVD in and out thru S, VHS going in and out composite, and DV coming in through the p600 card. it was so easy! i would really like to know how youve got your fcp/bmd workflow set. thanks
