Same issue… plays ok for a few seconds, up to 20 in some cases, then starts to drop out. Video also freezes from time to time as well.

Does not happen if I turn off video tracks.

    My system:
    Dell Precision M7720
    Intel Xeon 2.90Ghz
    64GB RAM
    1TB SSD
    Windows 10

Here’s a screen shot of adobe memory settings and file type

The problem I’m having is paying $50 a month for issues that are never addressed. With a subscription based service touted by fast updates and the latest and greatest from Adobe without having to buy a new release every other year, I expect routine evaluations and responses from the manufacture addressing the issues that plague their customers. Their idea is good… but their lack of response sucks.

Is there a way to search for timecodes via the media browser?

Not sure about first post, but i am looking for a way to search timecode… with over a hundred clips of footage to choose from, being able to search timecode would greatly speed the process.

Looking for the same feature… would be very helpful when editing multiple cameras synced via TC.

Just a follow up… I recently purchased a Dell Precision m6600 with 712gb SSDs in a Raid 0 and it still can not quickly build thumbnails… and no thumbnail cache.

Thanks for the reply… I’m in FCP 6 and 7 now and it switches to program after an edit. In my little mind, this is the proper work flow.

September 5, 2012 at 12:57 am in reply to: Removing out points from stills before editing

Not sure how to resolve this issue, but I find it very inconvenient as well. To speed up the process, I created a keyboard shortcut to delete the in, out and both in/out points. So, after you double click the image to load it into your source monitor, press the shortcut you need and life should be a little easier/faster. I think there is already a shortcut for these commands but I wanted them on specific keys.

    Hope this helps.

  • Thank you! From what I understand, Tesla is not an option on laptops… were these additional tests performed on desktops? My big concern is the performance of the Quadro 3000 (Dell) vs the GeForce GT 650M (Mac). I recently purchased a Dell M6600 Precision Laptop, but I’m still not happy with the performance. Just debating returning the Dell and getting the new Macbook… hoping the SSD will improve the performance.

May 11, 2012 at 9:48 pm in reply to: Wait for new Macbook Pro?

Thank you, Chris! I apologize for not giving the specifics.

Our workflow is the standard, which means there is no standard. We typically shoot/edit XDCAM 1080i60 and h.264… but we receive and edit most every format imaginable. We also do some logo/graphic design and animation, composite and green screen.

I appreciate the confirmation that your system works well in your application. I’m mostly concerned with the specs of the system I noted, and hoping to find someone with a similar system that can give an apples to apples comparison. The performance of the graphics card they are suggesting is my biggest concern… it’s what they suggest over the nvidia quadro that Dell highly recommends, but not avail on macbooks. I’m very sorry if my questions seem simple…. but, I’m not a tech guy in any way, which is why I’m here. People like me flock to these forums for advise and guidance from those that have experienced/resolved the issues we’re facing.

    Thanks again!
