    Hello out there,
I’m hoping someone can provide some insight on an age-old issue that I’ve been having with Adobe Premiere Pro!
    AUDIO DROP OUTS:
When I hit play on a synced timeline, the footage plays back just fine, but audio FREQUENTLY drops out, and won’t return unless I hit stop and play again. I can’t help but notice all previous threads on this issue are well over 2 years old now- but I have a hard time believing no one else is having this issue with a program that updates almost every month…

***I would inquire with adobe but unfortunately for me their help page says servers are down for the weekend. It’s gonna be a lonnnng weekend if I have to put up with this any longer!

    PLEASE! ANYONE! HELP!

Hi Christopher. Send up more information about your system and media file type(s) you are using. Without a little more hardware info to help us get started, it is all guesswork.

Many folks place most of that info in their signature (see below). Saves having to put in in repeatedly over time.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2015.02 (as of 6/2016)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF.

hey Jon, thanks for your reply.
    __
    Intel Core i7-3820 @ 3.60ghz
    Windows 7 64-bit
    32gb RAM
    Adobe CC 2015 v10.4
    2tb internal
    __

    Audio Properties:

    Type: Windows WAVE audio file
    File Size: 166.84 MB
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz – 24 bit – Mono
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz – 32 bit floating point – Mono
    Total Duration: 00:06:44:45034
Source image contains 3 channels of audio.

These audio files are not married to the footage- they were synced with pluraleyes. The native camera audio also drops out when during playback.

Have your audio clips been conformed fully? https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/importing-digital-audio.html

There should be a progress bar on the lower right corner in Premiere if a conform is happening.

    Hi Christopher,

You’ve probably found a workaround for this problem by now but just in case anybody else is stuck like I was for the past few days trying to figure this same thing out…

Make a copy of your project and work from that one (just in case), select only the audio on your timeline and then choose “render and replace”. It takes a bit of time so test it on a shorter section first.

It worked for me. I just went onto the adobe support forum and started a chat with one of their agents and we had it solved within a matter of minutes.

    Hope this helps someone!

Same issue… plays ok for a few seconds, up to 20 in some cases, then starts to drop out. Video also freezes from time to time as well.

Does not happen if I turn off video tracks.

    My system:
    Dell Precision M7720
    Intel Xeon 2.90Ghz
    64GB RAM
    1TB SSD
    Windows 10

Here’s a screen shot of adobe memory settings and file type
