Make sure your file system is not fat32, it should be NTFS to be able to use large files.

[Internshawn] “I am exporting back out to .avi file type”
If you have made alot of changes to the video the longer it will take to render and export particularly if you have labor intensive effects stacked on top of each other.

Here’s something else that maybe causing the problem, your 7600 was DirectX 9, your new card is DirectX 10, Ppro2 was made before DirectX 10 came out.

If you have problems with a original installation, and have tried updated drivers, try rolling back the drivers to a version less than the original installation.

You should have the Device control set to DV/HDV, the Device control options set to NTSC or Pal, the rest set to Sony/Standard or Sony/Alternate 1 or 2, you will not see anything on the capture monitor except “Capturing”, make sure you are capturing to a Harddrive other than the one the OS/Apps is on.

Are you seeing the artifacts while you are capturing? or after in the data? if only while capturing try updating the video card drivers.

[Zvi_Twersky] “I’m not an expert on how the audio tracks work on the camera itself,”

It would be nice to know what cams you are using as usually the onboard mic is stereo and fills one stereo trk(two channels), and external devices like a wireless mic are mono and fill just one channel of a stereo pair unless unless a mono to stereo spliter is used.

You should describe your computer system, render time depends on the computer horsepower, also what are you exporting to? a file or tape?
