Right and Left Audio tracks question
Hi. I edit weddings that use 2 cameras – the shoulder camera’s sound is from the camera’s mic and the crane camera is connected to the D.J. via wireless device. I use mostly the crane audio and give a little of the shoulder cam (about -30db).
I’m not an expert on how the audio tracks work on the camera itself, I just know how to set it in PPRO and I’m trying to understand something:
When I edit an event that only has one camera, I would duplicate the audio track and apply the “fill left” and “fill right” filters. The fill right would give me the pure D.J. (via wireless) and the fill left would give me the cam mic.
When editing a nested sequence for muticam in PPRO, as you see, you can choose CAM1 or CAM2 on the audio clip itself without applying filters. I just thought about this today, for I was still duplicating the audio tracks… making one CAM1 and another CAM2 but I was still applying the “fill right\left” filters! Is this a mistake? I might be making each trach MONO by doing this!
Summery to my question: When using muticam sequence, after I duplicate the audio track and set one to CAM! and the other CAM2, do I still need to add the “fill left\right” filter? (CAM1 is the cam on crane with just the D.J. in audio and CAM2 is the shoulder cam with just the mic on the cam.)
Thank you
