No, it’s always at the bottom right, but some of my lower thirds have graphics that would be underneath the bug (which I don’t want).

Just realized that the Compressor trick will only work in some cases. Because other times I have to do it in FCP because I don’t want the bug over a lower third or possible other graphics it might cover.
And the timecode tip for compressor will save me a lot of time!! Thanks all…

There are many softwares to do what you want, but be warned you’ll never get the quality of a 300dpi image.
I’ve personally used genuine fractals and it does a decent job. Here’s a list of others:

You could try Select : Color Range.
Then use the eyedropper to select one of the white spots.
Close the Color Range then use a big brush to paint over all the selected areas (which will be your white spots).Unselect and you’re done!

Yes, the Panasonic is kinda spendy, but it has NEVER failed me in hundreds of transfers.
Plus, it has the internal drive which is only 60GB, but that’s 3 cards worth, which is a grand total of 120 minutes of HD footage.I have yet to shoot that much in one day.
If you’re shooting 5 to 6 hours a day of actual footage, THEN I can see another plan.
