Micro P2 cards huh? That’s good to know! I missed that fine print!

Seems like regular P2 cards would then be pretty close to the same price.

    Thanks for the info.

    Hi all,

I tried both of these and neither one does it!

Maybe I should have mentioned that I’m still on CS5? Although I would think a matte is a matte, right?

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks again!

November 14, 2013 at 9:57 pm in reply to: A few questions from Final Cut editor new to PP

Since I started this thread, I’ve learned a lot about PP.

What I still don’t get is why Final Cut could save favorite transitions 10 years ago, but the latest and greatest PP can’t do that??? (OK, I’m still on CS5, but you know what I mean).

I’m not a programmer and maybe I’m missing something, but with all the bells and whistles PP has, I’d think it would be so easy to save favorite transitions.

We also have the new Final Cut X (yuk), and even that can’t save favorites.

Maybe someone can school me otherwise.

    Thanks…

October 16, 2013 at 6:44 pm in reply to: How to get Boris Transitions to work in CS5?

[Angelo Lorenzo] “I don’t think may effects in the market are used as native transitions (I think Boris’s makeshift AE replacement called Boris RED can do it).

Generally you apply the transition to both clips, put clip 1 above clip 2 and overlap where they join slightly, then you keyframe the effect amount from 0 to 100 on the entering clip and 100 on the exiting clip.”

    Thanks Angelo!

    Thanks guys!!

So, here’s a question on my S2VR drive: If it supports RAID 1, how can it mirror the drives if there are 5 drives inside? I thought it had to be an even number of drives for RAID 1.

    Thanks…

Thanks for all the info, guys!!

For the record, my CalDigit is an S2VR 2.5TB with 5 Hitachi drives. The Raid is set at “Performance” which I’m guessing is Raid 0. (Can anyone confirm?).

As far as losing data, the tech at CalDigit said if 1 drive goes, I lose everything, so I assume it’s Raid 0.

The only issue I’ve had has been the external drives unmounting at random – but I think that’s a Leopard issue, not CalDigit. I have then had to use Diskwarrior to redo the directories.

[Steve Eisen] “I have also made some very wise investments and saved thousands and thousands of dollars on new and old gear.”

Yep! Like my 2 betacam decks that go on and on and on!!

[Steve Eisen] “Today 16, 32 and 64 GB cards are readily available and inexpensive plus the need to offload on location has really not been an issue. Panasonic did not see the need to make a model with a larger hard drive. “

Except for guys like me who spent 2 grand a few years ago and now my P2 store is all but obsolete!!!
