January 15, 2019 at 3:41 pm in reply to: Anyone know how to make these 3d text extrusions?Greg – Thanks, I have done that in the past and there are some cool ones out there, unfortunately the client wants that EXACT extrusion!! (which I have never seen in a template)
Jerry – I just now saw your settings which I will try later. Last night I installed BCC9 into Premiere and only had a few minutes to try the 3d Text. I will definitely try your settings because I noticed there were a TON of variables! Thanks!

January 7, 2019 at 10:18 pm in reply to: Suggestions for editing with CS6 on older PC please!Another thing – how full are your drives?
External SSD is only 5% filled. Internal OS SSD is about 85% filledWhat are the specs of the footage that won’t play in Premiere Pro? Will it play in VLC Media Player?
Will need to get that when I get home. Size is 1920×1080 – that’s all I know for now.Lastly, you aren’t running any footage from your internal drive, right?
No, strictly using the external. -

If not USB 3, then what? Besides eSata, I thought that was about the fastest these days.

March 4, 2018 at 5:59 pm in reply to: Can I upgrade my Mac to edit 4k or even 1920, or is it a lost cause?EDIT:
I forgot to mention that I know Final Cut X works better on a Mac than Premiere Pro, but I came from editing on Final Cut 7 and I COULD NOT get into Final Cut X! It was almost like they took a step backwards to appeal to consumers instead of us using FCP7.
I realize that it is more user friendly and quite powerful, but I decided to go to Premiere since that was more similar to FCP 7. -

I will try 29.97 like you suggested!
You are correct, I AM able to edit 1080p on my system from our GH4 camera just fine. But before we got that camera, I was trying to edit 1080p footage from our DJI Phantom 3, and it was REAL jerky! It would play for about 4 seconds, then stutter like heck. Not sure if it was the codec or what.
I then assumed ALL 1080p would edit like that. But once I tried footage from the GH4 it was OK. Weird!
But we still need to move into the future so I appreciate the suggestions on newer Macs.
And even though I have a PC at home and love being able to dig into the backend, I agree that Macs “just work” for video applications! In fact, we still have an even older Mac that we still use for occasional Final Cut 7 projects!
Thanks again to everyone who commented on my post. I am now in a better position to move forward!
