How to do a simple b-roll insert with in and out point?
Hi All!
I come from Premiere Pro for many years and I am trying my hand at Vegas. (Client had some Vegas project files I have to use). Version 13 is what I have.
I know this seems like such a simple question, but for some reason all the Youtube tutorials I watch say to drag the clip to the timeline, THEN edit the in and out points. Seems weird since I am used to setting my ins and outs in Premiere BEFORE I drag it to the timeline.
I am using the Trimmer window which looks like a source monitor and in fact have set an in and out point, but when I try to insert it on the timeline, it still inserts the whole clip. What am I missing here?
Also, is there a way to insert just the video part of the clip? (Another Youtube tutorial said to drag the whole clip to the timeline, set in and out points, delete the audio from the clip and delete the extra audio track it created.) Seems like WAY too many steps!!
Thanks for any help you have and any tricks to make it more similar to Premiere (if that’s even possible).
Bill
