Went I got the QR-EX3 adapter for my EX-3, I was told not to put any battery that weight more than 1 lb. on it, as if you use a heavier battery, it just may weaken the mount and damage the QR-EX3. I have Dionic 90 batteries and 1 will last you all day. So I would weight your batteries and see.

so..go to Menu—-“others”—-go to the bottom, look for “ilink IO” and make sure that its “disabled”..this should fix it.

make sure that the fire wire output is turned off, as if it is “on” it will turn off the HD-SDI port. I think that’s the only way the HDSDI will not work.

From experience..as I own a EX-3, you can not use a card to match these cameras…as in EX-1R or 1 to EX-3. You have to sit there and manually input the settings for the two to match. I would go with the EX-1 as the set up card that has the picture profile on it, should read the same for both cameras. I don’t know why Sony won’t let the EX-3 and EX-1 or 1R “talk” to each other….HTH

Does it do that went you move the viewfinder up and down?
My EX-3 did that so I took it to a local TV engineer( who use to work for Sony here in Dallas)….and all it was that the ribbon cable connector was loose from the LCD connector…all he did was to make sure it was seated right as it came loose….and now it works fine. I was about to ship it off to Sony in L.A. which would have cost me a bundle…but all I am out is a $25.00 lunch, that I brought him for helping me..as that’s what he wanted for payment.

and what is wrong with saving a “little” money…if it works, it works. I have not lost any video files since I started using them, and the clients are happy. final

Go with the MxR..I have 2 of them, not one problem in 2 years. Sony is always over priced.
