  • No HD SDI output signal on my EX-3’s

Posted by Ed Tworek on January 10, 2013 at 11:21 pm

I have 2 1 year old Sony EX-3’s. Both do not have an HD SDI output signal. I’ve run through every configuration in the menu that I can see. I do have a signal through the Monitor Out port. I reset the camera with no change.
Yesterday, we attempted recording via a Ninja and several other devices.
    What am I missing?
    thanks
    Ed

Select the Highest recording format and make sure the output is campatable with the monitor, I think it’s under Genlock for the output and set to 60i

    Good Luck

make sure that the fire wire output is turned off, as if it is “on” it will turn off the HD-SDI port. I think that’s the only way the HDSDI will not work.

so..go to Menu—-“others”—-go to the bottom, look for “ilink IO” and make sure that its “disabled”..this should fix it.

This works to solve the problem–my output was set to 24pfs. Switching to 60i enabled HD-SDI output.
