i iwas trying to render it to a raid….trying a different drive now.

  • what i have done, is just match up the starting timecode..with the corresponding timecode in on the tape, in the timeline, and render out..the numbers in qt have alway matched up fine for me.

or just transcribe the audio, then go back and time code it later with a vhs dub of the tape, or something.

seriosuly people…i love rendering…i don’t know why we’d want to do it faster…its like, free money.

i am kinda sad about my 1.8 dual g5 i have….i hope it lasts me another 3 years, but i mostly work in DV, so, i have a feeling it will.

shane, thanks for that great link and tutorial, much needed and appreciated. i’m not doing the p2card import, but the guy who is, thanks you much.

one more question…like i said, i am setup for dv editing…whats the best way to preview video out?? i don’t have an HD display, just 2 22 inch sony trinitron crt’s, a dvcam deck, and a sony trinitron monitor??

    if i am not wrong,

you could also shoot everything minidv,

bring your timeline to an online broadcast suite ($$$)

then have everything up-rezed and re-imported back into fcp and thrown onto a tape…

are you using mp3 files??????? everything within fcp has to be 48khz…or 32khz if that’s how your media/timeline is configured.

    trash preferences??

hmm….it could be the deck….you could always capture it analog, teh same way you capture footage for betasp work if u cant get the firewire to work.

make sure the deck is set to DV, i know on my dsr20 deck, if you switch it t video, it won’t pickup the firewire..perhaps there is something similar with your deck. check out the internal settings.

you could also, if timecode isn’t an issue, turn it off and capture that way…it should just record black at breaks,
