hey guys. got a few questions, just want to double check some things, mostly.

next week i am editin 3 spots shot on an hvx with the p2cards. they are shooting it 720p, which i believe is the same as dvcpro50?!??!?

anyway, i am setup for dv on my machine now. i have a dual 1.8ghz g5, 2 gigs of ram. everthing is being loaded and backed up on 2 lacie fwire800 drives. one drive for editing, one drive sits on the shelf.

i have fcp5 studio, and running the newest tiger updates, everything is running fine.

anything i need to know?? any hints, ideas, pitfalls that could be good to hear, would be fantastic.

Negative that. P2 is DVCPRO HD.

Seach in the COW’s article for Shane Ross’ article on P2. Also google it. There is a lot of stuff you need to know about handling P2 material, and it’s all out there on the web. Lots of different options and tools like P2 Log and P2 Genie to help you.

    hey guys,

shane, thanks for that great link and tutorial, much needed and appreciated. i’m not doing the p2card import, but the guy who is, thanks you much.

one more question…like i said, i am setup for dv editing…whats the best way to preview video out?? i don’t have an HD display, just 2 22 inch sony trinitron crt’s, a dvcam deck, and a sony trinitron monitor??

Need either an HD card (AJA, Decklink, Matrox MXO) or to route the signal thru an AJ-HD1200 or HD1400 HD deck to your monitor.
