Correct. I can’t see the waveform in the newly .sync clip in my Record Monitor. I’m on version 6.5.4.4 and the OS is 10.8.5

All the footage I get from my C Camera (jam synced). I load the clips into my Avid and the audio for each clip is always 2 frames off. I know the easiest solution is to tell my cameraman, but I have footage from a few weeks ago. I have to go in and move all the audio over two frames for each clip. It would be nice if I could batch move the audio two frames for each clip in one pass.

Here’s the thing. I can see it when I go to Log and Capture, I just can’t capture it. It won’t let me click on Capture Now. I put it on Non-Controlable Device, Firewire NTSC, Firewire basic, etc….

I would actually love to figure this out and I’m glad that I found a band-aid in the mean time, but I’ve tried everything I can think of. Any other advice?

May 29, 2011 at 8:40 pm in reply to: Capturing With Canopus ADVC-100

I’m having a similar problem. I have the canopus 300 and I’m trying to capture Hi 8 Tapes with a Sony Handycam Vision. When I go into Log and Capture in FCP 6, I have to press play on the camera and then it plays in Log and Capture, but when I hit Capture, nothing happens. I’m so confused!! I’ve tried non-controllable device, NTSC firewire, NTSC firewire basic.. etc… Can someone please help me….

    Set Up

Canopus 300 hooked up to my G5 tower by DV I/O on the front of the box to my firewire port on the front of the tower.

Sony Handycam Vision hooked up to the box using an S cable and the audio video cord. (All plugged in the FRONT of the Canopus 300 box)

I turn on the camera and box, open FCP, Go to easy set up, Log and Capture, I then have a blue screen appear, I press play on the camera and the video starts playing in my Log and Capture window, I press Capture and nothing happens. It lets me press it, but it never stars capturing. I’m going crazy.. Somebody please help me. Thank you in advance.

It still doesn’t work. So, on the front of my Canopus ADVC 300 I have one audio cord plugged in, and S cable and the DV I/O plugged into my computer. What am I doing wrong? Nothing is plugged in on the back except the power cord. I have everything set up the way you said and nothing is happening. It won’t let me capture. When I press Capture Now, no screen pops up to say it’s capturing. I’m so confused because I’ve logged and captured many times from cameras. Please help, this is driving me crazy!!!

Do the analog cables plug into the front or back of the Canopus?
