Using XDCam EX codec. It appears that while FCP recognizes the video as 60p and creates timecode with 60fps, soundtrack pro is unable to support TC with 60 fps. Thus my problem.

Ok, that’s pretty much what I’ve been doing.

What limiter do you use? The settings I’ve seen only allow a ceiling within a few dB of 0 — I set my levels to peak at around -12 (using -20 as my analog “zero” reference). Do you apply a limit? If yes, what?

    Thanks!

Where do you get the older Meridian Codecs? I would like to install them on my FCP system. I have two Avid Meridian systems up and running (PC version) at my office. It would be nice if I could swap files without dumping to tape.

Thanks for the links. I actually have both an old IBM (my Xpress box) and a Compaq (my Composer box). I got the same results on both.

Any other suggestions or possible fixes?

    Thanks for your help!

January 13, 2007 at 8:09 pm in reply to: Boris Red 4.1 upgrade

It is a new Intel Mac with dual 3.0 GHz Xeon processors.

When I go to “About Final Cut Pro,” it says that it is running version 5.1. There isn’t another sub-number.

I went ahead and installed the universal version, but I’m having some more trouble. I don’t see the Boris options inside of FCP at all. No video effects, no transitions. I followed the instructions of starting FCP with Caps Lock down and then restarting FCP with Caps Lock up, but that didn’t seem to do it.

    Your help is appreciated.
