August 7, 2010 at 1:27 pm in reply to: Should I sell my Sennheiser MKE 44P and get a Rode NT5Thanks so you obviously rate the 44P. I read reviews that indicated it was lacking at the base end and that the NT4/5 were better general purpose mics. I also read if you have a lot of instruments some get lost with the NT4/5 and it was a little lacking in the mid. Is the 44P better at recording a band?
Sounds a lot like swings and roundabouts to me,
The fact that the NT5 can be used as 2 mics (i.e. vocals guitar) really appeals to me but I am wondering how directional they are.

The clue is in the title ‘DVD Architect DVD will not play on Mac’;).
Interesting I’me getting mixed messages. Some say you need software/codec and some say it should just work. Are you sure you have not installed any extra software on your mac. You may be using the apple DVD player but maybe VLC installs codecs that work in apple DVD player. I have asked them to try VLC.

I swear by thin guide – https://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2007/11/09/exporting-with-vegas-for-vimeo-hd/.
Although it is written for vimeo (Like youTube but for Adults, much higher quality and longer films allowed) it works a treat for YouTube also.

You should not have to burn the DVD to see what it does, preview should work.
Sorry if this is not helpful.

Thanks, I guess in his infatuate wisdom Steve Jobs decided that we should all stop using DVDs and use apples proprietary quicklime format.

Welcome aboard;).
There are lots of ways of only using part of the clip and you can even change its speed to make it shorted.
I would advise you spend some time going through some basic tutorials, it will save you much time and frustration.
Have a look at https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/support/trainingvids.asp?prod=vegaspro (or https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/support/trainingvids.asp?prod=moviestudio if you are using Studio), The trimming tutorial is the one I think you want.
There is also lots of stuff on YouTube.

thanks for the info. I don’t use any extra plug-ins mainly due to the cost. I am involved with community media and everything is on a really tight budget. Are there any articles you can recommend on what plug-ins are worth looking at. I realise it depends on your requirements but and intorductiion to them would be usefull.

Thanks for that, great news. Why are people installing both? Also how is this done? Maybe there are other posts/articles you can point me to rather than answer here, sounds like something that will be covered elseware.
