Hi, I have a quick question. I am kind of new to the Sony Vegas Platform. what should I do if I have to embed the clip or run the clip in less than it length.

per suppose, I have a clip of 10 seconds in length and I want to run complete clip in less than 2 seconds. Do you guys have any clue how to accomplish that ?

It’s not clear from your post if you want to stop at 2 seconds or speed it up to 2 seconds so here’s both methods:

If you just want to shorted the clip to 2 seconds you would click on the right end of the clip and drag it in until it was 2 seconds long. You could also use the ‘S’ key to Split the clip at 2 seconds and use the delete key to delete everything after that, finally you could open the clip in the Trimmer and select the 2 seconds that you want and drag just those 2 seconds onto the timeline.

If you want to speed the clip up so that the entire 10 seconds plays back in only 2 seconds then hold the Ctrl key while dragging the right edge inward and it will speed up the clip. Draging it longer will slow it down.

    Welcome aboard;).

There are lots of ways of only using part of the clip and you can even change its speed to make it shorted.

I would advise you spend some time going through some basic tutorials, it will save you much time and frustration.

Have a look at https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/support/trainingvids.asp?prod=vegaspro (or https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/support/trainingvids.asp?prod=moviestudio if you are using Studio), The trimming tutorial is the one I think you want.

There is also lots of stuff on YouTube.

    Hi John –

Thanks for interpreting my intention in the post. My question was regarding the second point. I wanted to run the clip in less than 2 seconds. And thanks a lot, for posting your reply. It was really helpful.

    Thanks
