Thanks Tod! It’s not just playback for me it’s undo, render and pretty much anything after a change has been made.

A person on that link you sent said “Avid doesn’t qualifies AMD because they don’t test it” which is the opposite that David said on here. I have to find a solution to this so is it get an Intel Chip?

Okay fair enough. I take back that it plays better without audio tracks there. After experimenting I’ve realized I only get issues when I go to playback after making a change. So perform a cut (fast) press play (5 second delay) stop press play again (fast). Could this have something to do with the cache?

Interesting okay. Well I have been dragging audio directly from the program Soundly and I did wonder if this caused the issue. So can I test this by some how changing all the audio to stereo?

Thanks David. So technically the film is finished so to deliver picture I duplicated the sequence and deleted the audio. Here i noticed I got the full functionality back?!

I do have the waveforms enabled- you reminded me tho I did try turning off all extras like waveforms , clip names etc..so i just had empty boxes but again this done nothing.

Thanks for your response Roy! Alas I have tried moving it around but didn’t experience any difference. The other drives are technically slower currently the project is on the fastest two drives. Maybe I’ll check the health of the drives?

  • I just exported as same to source. But honestly the footage looked washed out before that. The footage is a 422proxy with the LUT baked in. When i dragged in the footage.

Thanks for the reply. Well that’s good. I was just making sure the colourist can connect to the raw and not the proxy. Right?

Ace thanks for this. I will try it today. Randomly I stopped the problem by unplugging my dell screens. But maybe that was a co- incidence.
