If it’s possible to have the people that gave you the footage to re-dig, I’d ask for that. We have Mpeg IMX decks here. I do all my stuff at 10 bit uncompressed (Graphics and other footage are in 10 bit). The back of our Mpeg IMX deck has SDI outs and ins, so though the footage is stored on tape with this format, it can behave like a D-Beta deck.

    Good luck,

    Hope all is well,

Actually that didn’t do it. That was set right to start. It was a button I had turned on to “show multiclip angles.”

    Thanks,

I’ve had something similar. With mine it actually brings up Color instead of Motion. Same thing with “open in editor.” It’s annoying. I keep waiting for a Pro Apps update to fix it, but no.

I’ve worked on several platforms. Quantel, Discreet, Avid, FCP. Not being backwards compatible is standard.

    Yeah,
I was talking to a programer today that lives in the neighborhood. He reminded me the purpose of the graphics card, explained the piping, and said the best way would be for the graphics card to have more than one processor. Maybe that’s in the works? That would be cool.

I’m new to Avid. I have a Mac with FCP/Black Magic that has a RS422 port on it. I noticed the Mojo has no RS422 control. How do I get RS422 control out of my Mac? I looked for USB-RS422 9pins and found nada for the mac.

    Thanks,

April 9, 2006 at 9:01 pm in reply to: viewing 23.98 in viewer

After researching the issue further I found that if I control click on the timecode window in the viewer and switching from “source time” to “clip time” the window displays 24 frames per second. However the timecode overlay in the canvas still reads 30 frames per second. As an aside I should point out that when I say 24 and 30 frames per second I am really saying 23.98 and 29.97 respectively.

    Thanks,

It seems then that it would be a decent enough camera for 5k shooting to tape and later using P2 when the price/capacity improves.

Did you ever buy a cintiq? If so how do you like it?

    Thanks,
