I have a client that wants to do a 1 hour dock with HDV and Beta SP footage. I will offline on my Avid XPress Pro 4.8.1 on an older Mac G5 dual 2.0. I don’t have Mojo… yet. If I need it for the Beta SP I will buy it. Online will be done on a “suped up” PC running Adobe Premiere. The online guy wants AAF files with media. I plan to offline at DV-25 for HDV. How do I get the Beta SP to the DV-25 codec? Do I need to? Do I need to buy a Mojo?

    Thanks for any help,
    Bear Baker

Cheapest solution is to dub to DV if you have a deck or better yet, get a simple Canopus converter. Make sure you control the Beta deck with RS422 and use a burn-in to double-check frame accuracy.

I’m new to Avid. I have a Mac with FCP/Black Magic that has a RS422 port on it. I noticed the Mojo has no RS422 control. How do I get RS422 control out of my Mac? I looked for USB-RS422 9pins and found nada for the mac.

    Thanks,
    Bear

Generally most folks use a Keyspan USB-to-RS422 adapter for the Macs.
