  • [John Foley] “It is a shame that you can build a capture card for SDI video transfer for under $2K but a deck for the same is $50K???”

    SHAME SONY, SHAME!!!!!!!!

  • Here’s how I do it….

    – Put the avi into the source window of Premiere

    – select File>export Audio

    – ensure ‘whole clip’ is selected

    – give it a name then…

    – open Audition

    – open the above file

Now audition will create 6 mono wav’s.

If I wan’t to create 3 x stereo’s I then bring them into auditions multitrack window and pan L/R each track pair and do a mixdown.

I have many but after 0.5 secs came up with these….

1/ H LOCK CLIPS (the ability to move audio and video clips up and down tracks without them ‘snapping’ or slipping out of their timeline sync positions.)

2/ the ability to use the ‘cut and paste’ keys on many functions (eg reel name/clip name in capture window – only works with mouse dropdown menus)

3/ To be able to ‘link’ media to alternate format media. eg an offline clip that was captured as 2 track audio can be linked to a clip that was captured with 6 track audio (yeah, ok this is a bug that they know about but I think we are allowed 3 entries if one is a bug that needs fixing)

Aanarav forgot to mention that you should also have the track (not clip) highlighted when using the ‘T’ key

    [Tim Kolb] “what’s the “PCF”?”

Well Tim.. its my extreme attempt at humour… as my suggestion of ‘Diva’ is ‘aviD’ reversed ‘PCF’ is ‘FCP’ reversed. So “Adobe Diva PCF” is a combination of the two…. OK… so I am a little crazy…

My company uses 1.51 exclusively to make international high rating shows. When people ask me what type of Avids I have I say ‘Adobe’. Then they immediately think of the very professional ‘photoshop’ and it goes no further. So I would probably say “Adobe Diva PCF”… Tim?
