how do you mean?
if you put your comp at for example 16:9 widescreen square pixels.
and you inteprete your footage to that same, then there is no problem right?
if you talking about two black solids on top and bottom of your 4:3 footage, yeah okey. thats pretty easy to do (make two solids black and position them as you please), but why. that’s very weird to do, because it makes no sense..Bart

ehm, i’m sorry if i get this wrong. that doesn’t help if you look at his question. i think that you have to change the input values created by “soundkeys” or that audio think from AE. in the expression you can change it by puttin minus 10 or so behind the expression, but i’m also new to that stuff. anyway i think you have to look there.

June 30, 2007 at 9:01 am in reply to: hollywood FX – cords, ropes, string on a actor. how to get rid of them in AEokey, that’s alot of money. I realy wanna do the effects myself (it’s all about the fun of seeing your own creation). so back to AE then.

oowhjea. for 1 shot/ one animation (if you realy have only 1 shot, which seams unlikely, thus go to dynamic link and make new AE)
that what i explained above is infact the best method for mutiple shots and stuff.

here we go again 🙂
nice that i have al this text save earlier in a text file ^^here:
-Edit your clip in Premiere. than save your project.
-open After Effects. file>import, then import your Premiere Pro project file.
-now you see your clips in the project panel and very important a sequence file (it’s called that way I thought).
-double click on that sequence file (important: do not move it into the timeline, just double click). and all your seperate scenes/shots/files (cut in Premiere pro) appear in the timeline in AE as seperated layers (also transitions and styles from Premiere PRo are imported).
-then use coole effects on them separedly. if you wanne render in AE, your done here.
render out in Premiere :
-then save your AE file. and if you wanna render it out in Premiere pro, just open the AE project file in Premiere.
-then only 1 clip will appear, but you’ve edit this the first time in PP and allready applied effects on it in AE, so no prob there 🙂
i tried dynamic link, but this is only a options for 1 scene/dvd menu or whatever per sequence. only usefull if you wanne see direct result between AE and PP. not with a movie with 200 shots or so:P

but mokey itself isn’t a simple tool. so learning to deal with it and it’s many features takes time. and therefore AE is yeah, quicker to work with. -
a quick search on this forum or on google will give you more information about this subject.

okey. i realy don’t know if that cc simple wire removal works, I will have to find out.good idea though
i think that for shots where the cord, rope, wire is straight al the time, for example when somebody is falling from a building. then the masking isn’t that hard. like Steve and Epontius explaines just fill the gaps of the wire with some pixels by nudging the copy background.
when there are difficult shots, duplicate the footage and use the spaces on that layer were the cord doesn’t go yet and mask it over the other layer (again Steve explaines). little tricky I guess, but most of the shots aren’t that long, so i could try that.
that mokey software: https://www.mokey.com/products/mokey/
looks great, but is stand-alone and can not be used in AE. i think it works wellthanxs for all those good ideas
