Does anyone one no an easy way to create a movie affect with the black panels on the top and bottom of the picture, without actually resizing every clip manually.

how do you mean?
if you put your comp at for example 16:9 widescreen square pixels.
and you inteprete your footage to that same, then there is no problem right?
if you talking about two black solids on top and bottom of your 4:3 footage, yeah okey. thats pretty easy to do (make two solids black and position them as you please), but why. that’s very weird to do, because it makes no sense..Bart
