The only problems I’ve had with Compressor 2 is with 2 pass mpeg2. For me, everything else it works quite well. Is it possible that the drive you’re trying to encode to is full? Or that the file you’re feeding it is corrupt?

Not all capture cards offer real time acceleration. Those that do may only offer it for some codecs & some effects. I’d read up carefully on each of the cards you’re looking at to see what, if any, RT they offer.

If you want an alpha channel, you need to render to animation codec, not Apple’s uncompressed codecs.

I don’t think you’ll be able to synch the soundsticks to your video monitor. You should connect a pair of analog speakers to the same source that your video monitor is connected to.

V3.x was the last version of FCP that sent TC out over FW. From what I heard, it was never a supported feature, & it didn’t work consistently or reliably. Some people got TC out, some didn’t.
The standard kludge is to set up a Timeline with TC that starts at, let’s say 58:30;00, drop a couple of minutes of slug onto it, then export as an FCP ref movie. Open that file up in SimpleVideoOut, then set your DSR-11 to DVCam, external TC. Press record on the DSR-11, press play in SVO. Voila! Your tape is prestriped!
You could also output all of your headers, or even your entire show this way, but I found that SVO often left little glitches on the tape, so I only used it to prestripe, & then used FCP to ETT.

People have been trying to give you ‘constructive’ advice, they’re telling you to set your system up properly. For whatever reason, you seem to not want to do that. That’s not Thax’s fault. Nor is it Jeremy’s, nor Walter’s nor mine.
BTW, it’s entirely possible that there’s no real problem with your titles. But without a video monitor hooked up, you’ve no way to know that.

Just what look are you trying to achieve? Technicolor? B&W? Old Film? Bleach bypass?
FWIW, a good DP & clever production design will go much, much farther than any type of FCP plugin.

Those rumored synch issues are 100% caused by user error. Many people who are connecting their video monitors to their FCP system neglect to connect their audio monitors (aka ‘speakers’) to the same source. Consult your FCP manual to see how to properly connect both your video monitor & audio monitors.
