    Arty,

They mean it won’t work with the new quad G5s which require PCI Express (PCIe). I think every company is working on creating PCIe SATA cards now, but so far I haven’t seen one. Sonnet is due to release one sometime this month.

I’m curious to know if you can sustain the speed when you get above 600GB full. But it sounds like you’re on your way!

You want to buy something that first line of the first review says “This drive sucks”?

    Peter,

If I hadn’t read numerous comparisons by experts who put Maxline SATAs way out in front of of both Seagate and Hitachi, and if weren’t running my entire business on twelve of them myself, I might also think carefully about them after reading that guy’s review.

3Ware is releasing a new product based on their e-sata controllers called SideCar: https://3ware.com/products/Ext_serial_ata2-9000.asp

Buy one per station and you can even swap/shelf disk sets since drives are so cheap as your storage solution.
