And Title 3D lets you create multiple drop shadows & strokes (outlines). so you could conceivably add drop shadows in up to 5 directions!

There are free trials of all of the packages you’ve mentioned, including AE. Why not download them & give them a whirl with some test footage? Also, you can purchase 3rd party keyers for AE, if you like the workflow or other capabilities. Visit toolfarm.com or pluginz.com to see some other keyers that you may have left out. Good luck!

FCP does not support that kind of external render. Maybe in a future release, but not now. I think they included Qmaster for people who use Compressor 2.x or Shake.

If you want to stick with FCP 4.5, then you’ll have to convert your files from ‘polyphonic’ (more than 2 channels, I assume) to 2 channels each. IOW, You’ll have to make 2 or more files from each BWF file from the field recorder.
If it were me, I’d simply update to FCP5 & QT 7, then you only need to run your audio through Sebsky tools & be done with it.

FCP’s OMF export does not include volume info. Sorry, but that includes your rubberbanding. Mark already pointed out export that STP does include it, & I think STP should work with all your logic plugins.

I can see using motion for snappy title sequences, credit crawls, maybe jazzing up trailers. That’s the kind of thing that it seems to really be designed for. As a compositor, it’s lacking a lot of the features that more powerful tools like Shake or Combustion have.

It doesn’t sound simple to me at all. Try making just one of these objects first, then you can duplicate it & modify them as needed.

Because you really shouldn’t try to color correct without a good quality video monitor that can be calibrated to color bars with a ‘blue only’ or ‘blue check’ feature. Computer monitors don’t display color in the same way that video monitors do. Also, the canvas output in FCP isn’t designed for any kind of critical viewing. Please consult your manual to see how to hook up a video monitor & speakers.
