A friend of mine who’s a graphic artist is still running his beige G3. He looks at my G4 with envy! 😉 He’s hoping to scrounge up the $$ for a new mini or iMac someday soon.

I feel your giddiness! I felt the same way a year ago when my dual 2.5 showed up at the door. It replaced the single g4 400 which is now relegated to DVD burning or some web surfing while I’m capturing or laying off to tape.

.psd or .tif can have transparency. In any other format you would need to copy the transparency to an alpha channel, but I think that only .psd, .tif, .tga, .pct or .png will carry an alpha channel. You should consult the manual or help for Photoshop if you need help creating an alpha channel.

You might also want to try to transmit the files via Skype. It’s a bit friendlier & will configure itself for you. You just have to both be logged on, you select your compositor’s name in the Skype window & then click the “Send File” icon. I just don’t know if it will let you send a file that big!

I don’t think You need to delete the old info. Try it & see what happens. You can always quit out of the installer & root around to find the info if you have to.

It’s very complicated. Select all the files you want to swap out, then right click (control click if you have a 1 button mouse) and choose “reconnect media”. BTW, if other sequences in your project are using the same proxies & you don’t want to swap those out, you may want to copy this sequence to a new project first.

That camera is not on the list of supported devices for FCP. Do a search on this forum for what software you need to buy as a workaround.

Has this RAID mounted on this Mac (or another computer) before? Or is it new & are you trying to mount it for the 1st time? Could be that it’s not initialized.

Wait till you try their drop out fixing plugin! I even managed to get it to fix a drop in that cut across 2 frames.
