I have only 1 piece of advice: Be anal. Be very, very anal.
The more detail oriented you are when logging your offline, the smoother your online will go. You should be especially careful about logging your reel names, & make sure you have adequate pre roll for all shots.

If you have Motion, try keying the shot there, & then you can import the motion project into FCP & drop it into your timeline. Motion has Primatte, which is a very good keyer. You can also buy a version of DV Garage’s keyer for motion.

Two things:
1) How does it look on your video monitor? (You really need to have a PAL monitor connected to your system. Search back a couple of months on this forum to find out why)
2) If your sequence is uncompressed anamorphic D1 PAL, then you should be rendering out from AE as uncompressed anamorphic D1 PAL.Arnie

BTW, you’d need a DV deck that has SDI out to do this. You cannot do this via firewire.

In the browser, you can use “Find” to search for all clips from a particular reel name that’s used in a specific sequence.
In your timeline, you can use “Find” to search for all clips that have the same name.
Of course, you would have to have logged the footage with proper reel names & not renamed the affiliate clips in the sequence for this to work.

You’re dropping frames because your disks are not fast enough.

FW 800 isn’t anywheres near fast enough for 10 bit. At best, it’s marginal for 8 bit.
