I’m not sure if this is the software that Mark tried or not, but Studio Artist is supposed to be able to do this. I’ve never tried it, though.
Also, if you’re using FCP, check out FX Factory. They’ve got a number of filters in their pack which can make similar effects.

This might be an opportunity to start a relationship with a good freelance graphic artist. Shop around for someone to do the logo for you, but while your at it, keep an eye towards your future graphics needs. Will the same person be able to create lower 3rds? Show opens? Opening/closing titles? Design your web site? Your mailers? Your letterhead?
You may not want 1 person for all of the above, but it wouldn’t hurt if they could work on at least some of these things in the future.

“Small Caps” may be a specific version of the font. Take a quick look on linotype.com & see if that’s the case. If so, buy it & charge the $20-60 back to your client.

There’s a separate download of KLF for FCP/Motion. If you decide to buy it, the same serial # will activate both the AE & FCP versions. Red Giant seems to be licensing it to the computer, not to the host program.
And you probably should buy it, because it kicks tusch!!

A few things:
1- Bob’s article was pointing out that building a scope on a PC was much cheaper than buying an HD scope from Harris, Leader or Tektronix. That is 100% true, but, as you pointed out, it’s still not that cheap, and you do have to find a place for the PC.
2- It’s waaaaaay cheaper to knock together a PC with a Decklink HD card than it is to buy a Mac Pro for this. If you know how to use a screwdriver & have ever installed RAM or a hard drive, you can assemble your own PC from scratch. It will take you longer to price & research the components than it will to assemble them all. Just take a look at Hamlet’s BMD’s minimum requirements & go up a notch or 3 from there. You’ll probably save something like $2k over the cost of any Mac Pro with any Kona. And at least $5k over the cost of a rasterizing scope from Harris, leader or Tektronix.
3- There are some competing products for the Mac. You might be able to run them on a used G4 or G5 PowerMac along with a Decklink HD card. For starters, Take a look at https://www.scopebox.com/
4- I’m pretty sure that you can’t run a Windows emulator & FCP or Color at the same time. And if you could I would expect it to be very unstable.

If your native format is 720, you should stay at 720. Although there’s nothing wrong with them asking for 10-bit UC. And they should be able to deliver back to you as 720. To have to scale the video up for compositing, and then back down afterwards is an unnecessary step, and could introduce artefacting if it’s not done properly.
If you were mixing 1080 & 720, that might be another matter, especially if the final conform were at 1080, but that’s not the case here.

And can you get a good encode if these clips are normal speed? If so, then try exporting just these clips, with the slow-mo, as XDCam. This will “bake” the slow-mo into them. then import them back into your project & replace the slow-mo in your timeline. If that doesn’t work, then try slowing them down in After Effects or Shake, & then importing them back into the project to replace the original clips.
