Except that Color will only output to a video monitor via an internal capture card or an Io HD. And the Io HD is probably not compatible with Javier’s system, either.
Short of finding a used Cinewave (HD & SD), or Aurora Igniter (SD only), the only real option is a new Mac.

So, if you select a file in the Finder, and choose “Get Info” from the File menu, what do you see in the “Ownership & Permissions:” panel near the bottom? Do that, also, for the drive these files are on. My guess is that you don’t have write permissions on the whole drive. If you’re logged in as the administrator, you should be able to change the permissions on the whole drive at once, and all the files & folders inside of it.

You’ll notice that the 1st line of the instructions for one of these programs is typically to back up all of your data & programs, just in case.
David’s advice below is very good. Drives are cheap. Time is money. etc.

Compared to the $12,000 or $14,000 that Sony’s 24″ CRT used to cost (plus another $2,000 or so for the SDI board), this is still a bargain. And the price of this & competing LCD monitors is more likely to drop over time than not.

Honestly, that’s not a quick question to answer.
You can search on this forum and at the Kona forum to find out more about what kind of monitor and hard drive array you might need.
You can find information on what kind of data rate different codecs need at the AJA and Apple websites. Drive array and controller card manufacturers provide information about how fast their arrays and controllers are.
Or you can find a good VAR or consultant to build you a system. If you have to ask this kind of question, that’s probably the best route for you. Not only will they help you spec it out, but they will put it together, integrate it with your other equipment and help you get up & running with it, and help provide other support for you down the road.

The x1900 is a PCIe graphics card. I don’t think your Mac has PCIe slots. You need an x800 card for an AGP slot.
