It’s still a pity Adobe isn’t listening more to its user base. This is not a silly request frankly considering the number of people using this card on OSX platforms. Especially as the GTX780 seems to be supported, then it really doesn’t make any sense you need to make the Titan compatible.

Come on guys, just be fair player, we made our point here.

Hmmm did time stop in North America since last week, or is it just on AJA’s website?

    So AJA,

Any news on the issue with AE CS4 not getting any preview to the Xena when going full res (for me and for others it only works in half res)

There has been a lot of wait for these drivers, would be great to get some info on what’s happening.

    Thanks,

I just realized that there is a forum for AE expressions. So I think this thread should be moved over there.

    Thanks Wes,
Good to have an expert from Automatic Duck answer this question.
The problem is that I have to go through these kind of 2 hour shows every week almost… And really when I see how well it works in AE to do the cut detection I feel it’s a pitty I can’t get to the final step of exporting the info from the timeline.
I know a lot of AE infos are accessible through a simple cut and paste action. I was hoping that the timeline info from AE was stored somewhere not necessarly as a standard timecode but still in some fashion that could be easely reformated as TC to create an EDL.

November 28, 2006 at 12:07 am in reply to: Animated book, simple example

Great example!! I came right on time for me.
I’m an editor making his first steps into 3D after filming my uncle’s wedding.
I wanted to include a 3D “wedding book” in their video to tie the piece together and to experiment at making interesting transitions between sequences. I was not able to get something I like with AE fake 3D,
so I turned to C4D which I only started to learn a few weeks ago.
I’m a terrible modeler so my plan was to find a model and try to do the animation, unfortunately even on sites like turbosquid and others I could not find a model for C4D that has actual pages and a “middle opening” for me to try to animate.

This file shows great animation but I was trying to get a more old fashioned ‘thick’ book that I could have come on screen closed and then open from the middle and then flip a few pages in a ‘fairy tale’ style.

Do you think I could apply this animation inside a bigger model? Any idea where I could find an ‘animatable old style book model’? Did anybody go thru what I’m trying to accomplish before? Any advice, help, scene files?

And since I often see a lot of people asking for help and not “giving it back” I promess to share my final project to the community (including the following compositing steps in AE and Avid to get the final edit style) afterwards.

    Thanks in advance,

    Arno

September 12, 2006 at 5:20 pm in reply to: PLEASE REPORT AE pasting bug (Adobe people pay attention)

    Steve,

Yes I did report this bug already to adobe.

Thanks for posting this link, everybody who deals with this issue should definately report it on adobe’s site.

But if any of you have had some more experience with the bug and maybe found a solution please don’t forget to tell us about it.

    Thanks,

    Arno

  • Amheus,

Thanks for the help it worked just fine. As you said the subclips first show up as offline but a simple relink and voila it’s all there ready to work. Thanks again for the help.
Keep up the good cow spirit

    Sebastien,
I looked at the file, smart thing that using the technique of fading the full layer right
before you start the camera movement, so that you don’t have to worry about the “blank” spaces between layers.

But after looking at the Mobalpa exemples it looks like you were able to find a perfect way to divide the image onto those primitives so that they cover the full screen and also fit perfectly the new image after the rotation.
Did you do that in After Effects? Did you use a specific plug to make the computations of what shape and where they have to be in the 3D space to get such a perfect result?
    Thanks
