Create subclips from media log text file for footage already digitized
Here is an unusual request:
I have received a text media log for a project after that I had already digitized all the master tapes for this same project.
I don’t want to have to redigitize the tapes so I want to know if there is a way to apply the media log info directly to the master clips in my project.
I know the first answer would be redigitze everything using the media log text file but I am running against the time and the media log almost covers the entire length of the tapes.
The second anwser would be to use the DV scene extraction feature onto the master clips and cut/paste the subclips name from the media log. But we are talking about more than a thousand subclips on this media log and it hass very specific end and start TCs.
I would think there is an easy way to automate this process but I never heard about an option for media log subclipping onto already digitized footage. I am working on Avid Xpress Pro and on Adrenaline.

1. ensure the tape names in the log are identical to the reel numbers you have used, or change if neccessary, import the log as usual and then you should be able to relink the new bin to the media, simply select all the clips – clip menu – relink

Thanks for the help it worked just fine. As you said the subclips first show up as offline but a simple relink and voila it’s all there ready to work. Thanks again for the help.
